Theme: J.B. Phillips paraphrases Ephesians 1:19-20, "How tremendous is the power available to us who believe in God." When we make firm our connection with God, his life and power flow through us. When we neglect the power we’ve been given by God, we live life stalled out. This is what happened to the Israelites after the 12 spies came back to give a report of the Promised Land. 10 of the spies looked only at their lack of power and personal resources to inhabit the land that God had promised them, but two men, Joshua and Caleb, knew that God would see them through. This week we are taking a look at the ongoing story of Joshua who understood the “POWER” of God even in the bleakest of situations. In this message we will explore how Joshua and Caleb put their hope in something, in Someone, greater than themselves. When faced with a challenge too great to overcome through personal might and strength Joshua and Caleb knew the source of their strength was in God and God alone!
